Akihiro trained in the laboratory from 2014-2016 as a post-doctoral research fellow.
During his time in the lab, he was supported by the Yoshida Scholarship Foundation.
A key research contribution during this period of training was to investigate the impact of loss-of-function variants in lipid-related genes (ABCG5/ABCG8, APOB, CETP, etc.) on coronary heart disease using MIGen consortium database.
Akihiro is currently a clinical cardiologist and a genetic epidemiologist at Kanazawa University Graduate School of Medicine, Japan.
