Amit seeks to combine human genetics, traditional epidemiology, and bioinformatics approaches to gain insights into cardiometabolic traits and their relationship to atherosclerotic phenotypes.  Past research experience has included work with Dr. Daniel Rader implementing translational approaches to understanding lipid metabolism and Drs. Samia Mora / Paul Ridker to study biomarkers of risk prediction at the population level.  He completed his M.D. at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Internal Medicine Residency at Brigham & Women’s Hospital.  He is currently a cardiology fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital.  His research efforts are supported by an ACCF/Merck Research Fellowship.
