Over the past decade, we have built two research infrastructures that involve hundreds of scientists from more than 80 institutions around the world:
1. Global Lipids Genetics Consortium (GLGC). A collaborative project to understand the inherited basis for plasma LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides.
2. Myocardial Infarction Genetics Consortium (MIGen). A collaborative project to understand the inherited basis for MI in general, and early-onset disease in particular.
With these research infrastructures, we have conducted a series of genetic studies including genome-wide association studies, exome-wide genotyping studies, and most recently, whole exome sequencing.
